Calculator inputs and drafts
Calculations run in your browser. This version does not upload your calculator inputs. Session storage keeps your draft while moving between pages, including language versions. “Save draft on this device” additionally uses local storage so the draft can be restored later on this browser. “Reset to example” clears the saved draft for that calculator and restores its example values.
CSV exports are created in your browser and saved through its normal download behavior. Avoid putting confidential information in a shared browser.
Reading preferences and saved articles
Appearance, text size and saved article IDs use local storage in this browser. They are not uploaded to a Useful Work account or synchronized between devices. You can change the appearance and text size through the reading controls, and remove articles through “Saved articles.” Focus reading applies to the current page. If browser storage is unavailable, the controls can still work for the current page, but choices may not survive navigation or reload.
Hosting and external links
The hosting and access providers process network requests and may retain their own operational or security logs. Private previews can require the host’s account authentication. Links to source material take you to other sites with their own policies.
Analytics and forms
This version adds no third-party analytics script and has no newsletter signup form. The RSS feed can be followed with your preferred reader without submitting an email address to Useful Work.
Commercial relationships
No advertising script, affiliate tracking link, payment checkout, or paid sponsorship is active in this version. We are connecting the publication to Google AdSense for review. A static publisher-verification tag and a public ads.txt seller record identify our publisher account; these records do not load Google advertising code or create advertising cookies in your browser. Ad serving requires separate approval, updated disclosures and applicable consent setup before activation.
Using estimates
Calculator examples explain a method. They are not measurements of your project, a supplier quote, or a prediction of your electricity bill. Currency selection changes the unit used to display your entered values; it does not convert them.
